Pistol shrimp are fantastic little shrimp that have a unique ability.
The Tiger Pistol shrimp has brown or black bands and grows no larger then 7cm.
They have a pocket of air in one larger claw which can be used to create a loud cracking sound which deters predators.
Pistol Shrimps are extremely popular in the aquarium trade because of their social pairing with shrimp gobies.
When paired with a suitable goby the pistol shrimp shall create a network of tunnels underneath the rock work. The goby watches for potential predators.
They are easy to care for, grow no larger then 5cm and eat various foods such as frozen, pellets or flake.
Pistol Shrimps require stable water parameters and require a salinity between 1.023 to 1.026 and temperature between 23c and 26c.
